Four and half things for this week!

Dear Families,
Four and a half big things for you to know and act on this week:
1. Our Annual Queens Beach Fete is this Saturday and we need volunteers. Our class is running the Cent Sale and Mother’s / Chill Out Room. Please fill in the fete note being sent home today and return it before Friday. Cent Sale requires selling of tickets and Mother’s / Chill Out Room requires you to just make sure there are enough items such as tissues, paper towel, bin isn’t overflowing and of course having a little time to chill out there too.
2. I will be running a Homework Club for the rest of term beginning this week. Every Thursday after school until 3:30pm. So you can have your child stay and do their homework with me, then collect them at 3:30pm. Siblings are welcome as well and I can of course help them with their homework if you wish.
3. Family / Teacher catch up. Our school has Parent / Teacher meetings at the end of Term 3 however, if you have time for a catch up (face to face or phone) to talk about your child’s Semester 1 Report Card and our goals for them this Term, please call the school and book a time that suits you.
4. And a ½ Thank you for responding so positively to the 100 items challenge! Your belongings will be returned this week, if they haven’t already. Also we are still looking for volunteers in the classroom. Main times we require help are Tuesday afternoons with Computer Lab and Friday middle sessions with English groups. Babies and toddlers are welcome. Thank you to our awesome volunteer on Wednesday’s who is reading with your child each week.
Thank you,
Miss Richards

100 Days of School

Families,

What a wonderful, busy day we had! We discovered that we could count in tens to one hundred and in ones. We counted out one hundred fruit loops and made crowns with one hundred stickers. We made pictures of us being 100 years old and wrote our name as many times as we could in 100 seconds.

A busy day and we are very tired after 100 days of school. Have a big sleep tonight Prep R Rockstars! Thank you for bringing your collections of 100, they are super! See you on day 101!image image image

Welcome Back To Term 3

I hope everyone had a well-earned relaxing holiday and you are ready for our coming term. A few changes have happened over the holidays. Below is a sneak peak, see if you can guess what they are!  I can’t wait to see everyone on Monday! Enjoy the sunny weekend.image

Parent Workshops

Hi All,

Tomorrow and Thursday our Literacy Coach, Mrs Kylie Gummow is holding some Parent Workshops that you should all try to come to.  Tuesday’s session is about helping your child learn to read.  Thursday’s session is about our handwriting program, Casey the Caterpillar.  Children, toddlers, babies are all welcome too and if they are too distracting for you they can come and visit us in the classroom while you attend the session.  Both sessions begin at 8:45am.  See you there!

Thanks Miss Richards

***Update**** If you would like to attend a session in on these topics in the future contact me with a suggested time /day and we can organise another session.

Every Day Counts

There are nine learning days left until the school holidays. The catch phrase you see, ‘everyday counts’, is so true and it is important that your child comes to school every day. If your child is unwell please don’t send them to school, instead talk with me about either catching up at home or staying after school one day once they are back and we can go through what has been missed. Lets have a happy and healthy last two weeks!

Cheers

Miss Richards

Families that have visited the classroom recently may have noticed all the coat hangers outside our room and they have lots of different craft materials attached.  These are our wind ornaments. The children had to design an ornament that was wind and waterproof using the craft materials that we had. Some very creative pieces were made. Wind ornaments
